I find nothing civil or remotely intelligent about breeding animals in torturous conditions so that people can enjoy them as fur, food or leather goods. Anal electrocution is a death that no mink should go through just so some upperclass citizen can wear a status symbol. Yes these animal products have utility: this cannot be denied. It is whether this kind of commodification and disregard for life can be justified by anyone. You must ask yourself next time you see someone wearing a fur coat, did hundreds of small animals deserve a life of confinement and a horrifying death so that that person can have that extra increment of enjoyment. The answer is blazingly negative and ignorance of the suffering is all too common. For humans to evolve we must dedicate ourselves to bettering the experiences of all. Think!
